One District One Product (ODOP) is a Government of India initiative aimed at identifying, branding and promoting one product from each district based on the district’s unique strengths, resources, traditional skills and local economic potential. The initiative seeks to transform these products into marketable and competitive products, thereby promoting local entrepreneurship, employment generation and balanced regional economic development.
Key objectives:
Identify and promote district-specific products with high growth and market potential.
Support local artisans, farmers, producers, MSMEs and entrepreneurs.
Improve product quality, packaging, branding and standardisation.
Facilitate domestic and international market access.
Promote value addition, technology adoption and skill development.
Strengthen local supply chains and create employment and livelihood opportunities.
Promote the concept of “Vocal for Local” and build globally competitive Indian products.

Buyer–seller meets, exhibitions and trade fairs

The initiative is supported through key schemes such as:
Margin Money Scheme - Provides credit-linked financial assistance for enterprise establishment, expansion, and MSME strengthening.
Marketing Development Assistance Scheme - Supports branding, packaging, exhibitions, and domestic as well as international market access.
Training & Toolkit Scheme - Enhances artisan and entrepreneur capabilities through skill development and modern tool support.
Common Facility Centre Scheme - Establishes shared infrastructure for production, testing, design support, and technology adoption.
Overall, ODOP serves as a comprehensive framework for promoting local products, empowering artisans and MSMEs, enhancing exports, and creating sustainable economic opportunities at the district level.

Over 1,200 ODOP products listed on DPIIT's national digital portal.
Coverage across 780+ districts nationwide.
557 District Export Action Plans prepared.
29 Unity Malls (PM Ekta Malls) approved across States and Union Territories.
